Being involved in a film project with a religious theme provides a unique spiritual experience for its actors. This is what talented actor Emir Mahira and young actress Zee Asadel felt. Both of them admit to gaining many valuable insights about the essence of married life after starring in the film KUPILIH JALUR LANGIT.

In this production by MD Pictures, Emir and Zee are paired as a husband and wife who must face complex relationship dynamics. Through the characters Furqon and Amira, these two young stars come to understand how crucial communication, honesty, and sincerity are in nurturing a sacred bond in the future.

Emir Mahira Salim, who is now 28 years old, highlights how the character Furqon provides a real depiction of the risks of being someone who always wants to please others. This Citra Award-winning actor believes it is very important for someone to recognize their personal needs before stepping into a more serious stage.

"Actually, it's more like hmmm this is for people who are people pleasers, perhaps," said Emir Mahira when met in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

"Sometimes we have to focus on what we want, at least know what we need. Rather than doing something that others want, which will eventually wear us down, you know," continued the main actor of the film Garuda di Dadaku with full emphasis.

For the son of the couple Heru Salim and Maria Shanti, transparency in building relationships is essential. Emir believes that openness of information between husband and wife is the main foundation to prevent households from getting trapped in prolonged misunderstandings.

"In relationships, we must be transparent and good in terms of communication, that's it," he added regarding the lessons he learned from the character Furqon.

In line with Emir, Zee Asadel also draws deep wisdom about managing expectations. The girl whose full name is Azizi Shafa Asadel, who is the daughter of presenter Fadli Akhmad, realizes that the reality of life often manifests differently from the neatly arranged hopes.

"If I may say, from Amira's perspective, it's okay to have high expectations (in marriage). Surely everyone has such expectations, but sometimes we are also human; our expectations can sometimes not align with reality," Zee Asadel softly expressed.

The character of Amira teaches her to always be patient when facing heavy trials at the beginning of marriage. Zee believes that every sharp stone in a relationship is a way for the Creator to elevate His servant through the path of prayer and total surrender.

"But what I realize is, God willing, Allah gives tests to His servants that, God willing, we can get through. That's why Amira is given a test like this, God willing, she can get through her test. So we just have to be sincere and patient," she explained to close the conversation.
