Emotional Moment of Shelomita's Last Video Call with her Late Father

Kapanlagi.com - On Monday (6/4), sad news came from Shelomita. Her father named Didi Hadju passed away at Mitra Keluarga Bintaro Hospital due to prostate cancer and several other complications.

The news was initially confirmed by Shelomita's manager, Wendra. This time, the 45-year-old singer clarified it directly, while telling the chronology of her late father's illness.

"So, my dad had prostate cancer since 2017. At that time, it was still at stage 1C, so we were still calm, it was still okay for him. We had treatment every 3 months with injections, but in 2019, he fell. After the fall, he became weak, admitted to the hospital, turns out his kidneys were problematic, well, it started to spread everywhere because of the cancer," Shelomita recalled when met in Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, on Monday (6/4).

1. Start Losing the Ability to Speak

After falling, Shelomita's father immediately received intensive treatment. However, apparently his condition has been weakening to the point where he can no longer get up from the hospital bed. Slowly, his ability to speak began to disappear.

"A stand was installed for his kidneys to help, but apparently it is difficult to fix, so he remains weak in bed. From there, he started to weaken even more, and his physiotherapy became difficult. But he could still talk. It turns out that in the past week, it has become difficult for him to speak," Shelomita continued.

2. Last Video Call with the Deceased

The spread of Covid-19 or the coronavirus itself made Shelomita and her family unable to visit the deceased too often in his final days. They didn't want to take the risk. Nevertheless, Shelomita still frequently made video calls with the deceased.

"So yesterday morning we were still laughing during the video call, because of this pandemic we avoided meeting dad, because he was weak, we didn't want that risk. Yesterday, the whole extended family had a video call and talked, he couldn't speak, he just smiled, he smiled but couldn't speak, I didn't expect that to be the last video call," said the psychology graduate from the University of Indonesia.

3. Not Suffering Before Passing Away

Until now, Shelomita and her family are still grieving. However, there is one positive thing that brings her relief. Yes, the deceased is said to not have complained of excessive pain before taking his last breath.

"In the evening, my father's blood pressure dropped, he had difficulty breathing, not long after that he flatlined (passed away). In my opinion, Alhamdulillah (thank God), it went smoothly. In my opinion, people who have cancer suffer a lot, their bodies are in pain, but he didn't, that was my prayer. So, in my opinion and all of us, his children, Alhamdulillah (thank God), it was granted that my father did not suffer until he passed away. Until he passed away, our family had sincerely accepted it, Alhamdulillah," concluded Shelomita.
