Erin Enters the Blacklist of Many Domestic Worker Placement Foundations, Here’s Why

"Ms. Erin has been blacklisted by many domestic worker agencies, yes, that's true," said Nia Damanik when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Thursday (07/05/2026).

Nia added that she is now experiencing very deep trauma. She feels caught off guard because she continued to place a worker named Hera, who ended up being involved in an alleged physical abuse case. Nia emphasized that the safety of workers should be the top priority for every employer.

The owner of this foundation also shared that she had tried to provide solutions when Erin felt unsatisfied with the previous worker. However, Rien Wartia Trigina was considered very picky and often rejected the domestic workers sent for subjective reasons.

"I have sent a replacement three times, but he refused. He asked for a Javanese person," said Nia Damanik explaining the complexity of the employer's request.

Regarding financial matters and work contracts, Nia emphasized that everything is handled independently by Erin. She denied any involvement from Erin's ex-husband, Andre Taulany, in salary matters or daily household operations.

This issue began from a report by Hera, Erin's domestic worker, who claimed to have been hit by her employer. Hera then contacted Nia Damanik to seek help and legal protection after feeling her safety was threatened in that house.

The foundation is now leaving the entire legal process to the police. Nia hopes that justice can be served for Hera so that no other domestic workers experience similar treatment in the future.

"It's trauma, it’s definitely trauma. And I wouldn't want it again," concluded Nia Damanik firmly.
