Meiza's attorney, Rendi Rumapea, emphasizes that his client is very careful to ensure that the children are not affected by their parents' issues. So far, the children have not been involved or informed about the divorce at all.
"The children have not been involved in this matter because they are still young," said Rendi Rumapea when met in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Sunday (07/9/2025).
Furthermore, Rendi explained that Meiza does not want to complicate the process of meeting between the children and their father in the future. Although seeking custody rights, she ensures that Eza Gionino will still be able to meet and give his affection.
"It will not hinder the child from meeting their father so that they can both have a father and mother figure," he explained.
This is in line with legal regulations where custody of children under the age of 12 indeed falls to the mother.
"Because of the direction from the law as well, the Compilation of Islamic Law, under 12 years it goes to the mother," he said.
Meiza's attitude, which focuses on the child's interests, is also evident from the demands for alimony. She does not set an unrealistic amount and chooses to adjust it to Eza's capabilities."We will only do what Mas Eza can afford later," she concluded.
