Melanie Subono Claims to Be Starstruck Meeting Wali Band, Why?

Kapanlagi.com - Melanie Subono made a very surprising confession. Amid her enthusiasm welcoming seven legendary rock musicians from around the world, she actually admitted that she doesn't easily feel starstruck (panicked and nervous) when meeting them.

Instead of being mesmerized by rock legends like Eric Martin & Billy Sheehan from Mr. Big, Gary Cherone & Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme, to Dino Jelusick and the latest surprise, virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai, who will share the stage with Dewa 19, Melanie revealed that she would be much more panicked and nervous if she met the members of Wali Band.

"It's hard to make me starstruck. Really hard. I... I would be more panicked, more panicked meeting Wali. I swear, by Allah, I'm not lying," she said when met in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday (05/9/2025).

So, what makes Wali Band so special in her eyes, even more than the world's rock legends? It turns out, the answer lies in their character and real actions off stage.

1. Skill & Personality Number One

According to him, his admiration for musicians is not like that of a groupie who is captivated by looks, but rather by their impressive skills and, most importantly, their personalities.

"Not groupies who are fans saying, 'Wow, they're so handsome!' No, but those who say, 'Wow, your skill is amazing,' more like that," he explained.

2. No Nonsense

For Wali Band, Melanie sees a harmony between what they say and what they do. She greatly admires their simplicity and the social activities they often undertake without much publicity.

"Yes, because they practice what they preach. Not nonsense, they have a lot of social activities. I'm just happy. Really happy," she said.

She also concluded that the type of musician who can make her truly fall in love is one who has good lyrics and, more importantly, truly good behavior.

"I'm in love, my genre is lyrics and behavior. Their behavior is right. That's it," she concluded.
