.Feast 'Changed' to Barasuara, Baskara Appears Neat in Batik like Iga Massardi

There was an unusual sight at the Pestapora 2025 music event. The rock band .Feast successfully performed songs by the band Barasuara at Boss Stage on Friday (05/09/2025) morning. The performance, which started at 09:20 AM WIB, quickly became the talk of the audience present.

Performing under the scorching morning sun did not dampen the energy of Baskara Putra and his friends. In fact, there was one thing that caught the most attention, which was the vocalist's outfit. Baskara appeared neat wearing a batik shirt, reminiscent of the iconic style of Barasuara's vocalist, Iga Massardi, at the beginning of his band's career.

Performing Barasuara's songs, which are known for their complex arrangements, turned out to be a unique challenge for .Feast. The guitarist, Adnan, even joked on stage about the difficulty level of these songs after successfully completing three opening songs. "Alhamdulillah, we've done 3 songs, they're tough," said Adnan from the stage.

The jokes continued as they touched on Ucup's role from Boss Creator, the promoter of Pestapora, who seemed to intentionally give special challenges to the performers. According to Baskara, only one performer managed to escape Ucup's tasks. "Almost all the performers were worked on by Ucup today," said Adnan. "Only Bernadya didn't read the lyrics," added Baskara.

In their performance, .Feast played several hits from Barasuara, one of which is Pancarona. They mentioned that this song comes from the era when Iga Massardi was keenly exploring complex chord progressions. This moment seemed to be a long-awaited new experience.

"Finally, after years, for this experience," said Adnan. "We're bringing a song from the third album, this is the time Iga Massardi was experimenting with chords," he continued.

In the middle of their performance, guitarist Adnan made a statement that touched on the current socio-political conditions. He reminded the audience to be cautious of provocations, while also criticizing the phenomenon of buzzers that can attack anyone who speaks a lot.

Although performing works by other bands, .Feast's identity as a music group that is vocal and cares about social issues remains intact. After giving that jab, they still thanked the audience who were willing to endure the heat to watch their performance. "Thank you for gathering in this scorching sun," said Adnan.

The peak of their performance occurred when they were about to deliver the last song. They chose 'Terbuang dalam Waktu', a song that they believe made Barasuara go viral and recognized by the government. "Now we’re entering the last song, the one that made Barasuara viral until the government called us," said Baskara. "Called to perform, that is," he added jokingly.

However, the atmosphere turned solemn. Before the song began, .Feast dedicated this closing performance to the victims who have passed away during the recent protests.
