Rebellion Rose Withdraws from Pestapora 2025, Returns Fee and Transport Money

"We really knew the news that night, then we immediately gathered. Coincidentally, everyone had arrived in Jakarta because the plan was to fly to Bali. So, H-1 we had prepared the voice to withdraw," said Fyan when met in Kemayoran, North Jakarta, Saturday (6/9/2025).

This decision is acknowledged to be very difficult for the band that has been part of Pestapora since 2023. This year, they even received the honor of being the opening band, a slot they consider very prestigious.

"In 2023 we performed in the afternoon, in 2024 at night, and this year should be really cool because we are trusted to be the opening band. That makes it difficult, especially since our relationship with Bang Ucup and the friends is good," he said.

Nevertheless, the principles and values they have upheld through their works remain the top priority. Rebellion Rose is known as a band that often voices social issues and love for nature.

"In the end, we return to love. There is nothing more beautiful than uniting our love for nature and its contents. It is truly reflected in the songs we create. So we unite our voices to not perform at Pestapora this time," stated the vocalist.

This step by Rebellion Rose was followed by several other musicians such as Hindia and .Feast who also simultaneously canceled their performances. This wave of withdrawals prompted a swift reaction from the Pestapora organizers, who eventually made a surprising announcement on Saturday (6/9/2025) early morning. Through their official account, Pestapora stated that they have terminated their cooperation with PT Freeport Indonesia.

"As of today, Saturday, September 6, 2025, Pestapora has terminated its cooperation with PT Freeport Indonesia," wrote the Pestapora team.

Nevertheless, Rebellion Rose still performed and presented four songs. However, their performance this time was different. They transformed the grand stage of Pestapora into an arena for oration to raise awareness about environmental issues that are the reason for their protest. 

This is a form of tribute to the audience who have attended. Not stopping there, in their official statement, this band from Yogyakarta emphasized that they will refund 100% of the payment and transportation costs they received.
