Facing Trial for Firearm Possession, Legal Counsel Reveals Nindy Ayunda's Husband Bought it in Damaged Condition

Kapanlagi.com - The defendant, who is also the husband of artist Nindy Ayunda, faced another trial related to alleged drug abuse and firearm possession at the West Jakarta District Court on Monday (3/5/2021). The trial was conducted virtually and the agenda was to hear testimonies from the public prosecutor's witnesses.

After the trial, Askara's legal counsel, Hervan D Merukh, stated that regarding the possession of the firearm, his client bought the item solely for collection purposes.

"Today, there were still witnesses examined by the prosecutor, two arresting witnesses from the police who made the arrest, and then because there were no more witnesses, the examination continued with the defendant," said Hervan at the West Jakarta District Court on Monday (3/5/2021).

"Basically, everything has been revealed in the trial that the defendant bought the firearm with the intention of not using it. Why? Because the defendant intended to buy it for collection purposes," he added.

Hervan said, the firearm purchased by Askara was in a damaged condition. According to him, the firearm purchased by Askara was complete with its documents. However, after the purchase, the documents of the firearm were not given by the seller.

"He knew that the item was already damaged when he bought it, but because he still wanted to have some safety, he asked for the documents. However, until today, the seller has not given him the documents of the firearm, even though it was promised," he said.

2. Never Used

Hervan revealed that the firearm purchased by Askara was never used. In fact, Askara never carried the firearm when traveling.

"The firearm was never taken anywhere by the defendant, nor was it shown to anyone or even threatened with it, never at all. So, after being purchased, it was placed in a safe and the ammunition was still complete and never used in any way related to the firearm," concluded Hervan.
