Failed to Depart for Hajj This Year, Kimberly Ryder Reveals the Reason - Hoping for an Opportunity Next Year

Kimberly Ryder revealed that she had planned to go on Hajj this year. However, the plan had to be postponed due to administrative issues. She shared this when met in the Kapten Tendean area, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/5/2025).

"Originally, I was invited to go on Hajj this year, but because the visa process was a bit complicated, it seems I haven't been called by Allah for this year, Insya Allah next year," said Kimberly. Here are the details.

She explained that this is actually her first time performing Umrah this year, and the invitation to go on Hajj came unexpectedly. Nevertheless, she took it with an open heart.

"Recently, there was actually someone who invited me, so I was quite surprised, because this is the first time I am performing Umrah this year, but if it’s not the right time, then we just follow the plan, Allah’s plan is definitely the best," she said.

Kimberly admitted that she hasn't done much preparation for the upcoming Idul Adha. Her focus right now is still on observing the Sunnah fasting before the holiday.

"I actually haven't prepared much, just preparing for tomorrow's fast, that's it so far for the preparation, and I can't cut my nails anymore, that's it for now," she said.

She also revealed her family's tradition during Idul Adha, which is to sacrifice a cow or goat. Last year, her husband took part in the implementation of the sacrifice on behalf of the family.

"Usually if it's not a goat, then it's 1/7 of a cow, we'll just see what's available this year," Kimberly stated. "In my own name, if we look at last year, it was her father who handled it for himself and the kids too," she continued.

Although she failed to go on pilgrimage this year, Kimberly still shows her religious spirit and hopes to go next year. "God willing, in the future. First, we just have to go through it, hopefully God will touch our hearts later," she concluded.
