Fariz RM Set to Be Released at the Beginning of Ramadan, Ready to Return to Create

Senior musician Fariz RM brings the latest news regarding his sentence which will soon come to an end. After serving a year in detention, the legendary singer of the song "Sakura" is scheduled to breathe free air in mid-February 2026.

The news of Fariz RM's freedom was directly confirmed by his attorney, Deolipa Yumara. Based on the calculation of the detention period he has served, it is estimated that Fariz will leave the correctional facility within the next two weeks, coinciding with the month of Ramadan which falls on February 18.

"Fariz RM will be free possibly on the 17th, 18th, or 19th, around those dates in February. So next week, the week after that, in about two weeks," said Deolipa Yumara in the Depok area on Saturday (7/2/2026).

"The last time we met was in December. It was in early December that I spoke a lot with him. His condition is healthy, his life is calm, and there are not many issues. That's it. So in prison, he also feels calmer. But then he has to breathe his freedom in two weeks," she explained.
