Kapanlagi.com - Now the fasting moment feels different because they are still undergoing self-quarantine. This is also felt by siblings Verrell Bramasta and Athalla Naufal. They admit that they miss gathering with their family.

"Well, of course, we want it to be like the previous years where we planned to gather with family and friends. But with the current situation, we have to keep it to ourselves for now. That's the plan," said Verrell accompanied by his brother, Athalla Naufal in Tendean, South Jakarta (23/4).

"My plan is to think about how to perform tarawih prayers at home, the first suhoor, and the first iftar at home. I'm just thinking about dividing the time between my mother's place and my father's place," he added.

1. Breaking the Fast with Mama

After their parents divorced, Athalla admitted that he alternated between accompanying them. Currently, his mother, Venna Melinda, asked to be accompanied for breaking the fast with her child.

"Mostly, I'm like this, sometimes with mom, sometimes with dad. Maybe the first breaking of the fast is with mom, because she asked me to accompany her," Athalla replied.

2. Different Fasting Moments

Verrell also said that fasting moments now feel different. Previously, he could share food with many people or break the fast and perform tarawih prayers with friends.

"But this year is different. And there's a habit, me and my friends, after breaking the fast, we usually exercise together, then have suhoor and perform tarawih together. But now, it's mostly online. Mostly through zoom or video calls with other friends," Verrell replied.

Both of them decided not to think too much about surprises for their parents in the middle of Ramadan. This is considering the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

3. Try Cooking Yourself

Both of them admitted missing the days in Ramadan. They also said they want to try cooking their own food.

"The atmosphere, for sure, because usually the atmosphere is lively everywhere. I really like food like fruit ice, Eid cakes, I really like them," said Verrell.

"This year, we will try to make our own iftar menu. In previous years, we could break our fast outside, at restaurants, anywhere, but this year we cook ourselves," he added.
