First Time Fasting with Keanu at Home After Being Released from Prison, Angelina Sondakh: It Feels Great to Be Able to Cook for Sahur

Kapanlagi.com - Actress and former politician from the Democratic Party, Angelina Sondakh is fasting at home with her beloved child, Keanu Massaid, for the first time. Previously, for the past nine years, the wife of the late Adjie Massaid had been fasting in prison.

"Alhamdulillah speechless, it's very different fasting inside and outside, especially when I was truly fasting inside the prison. When I got out of prison, it was really nice to be able to cook suhoor meals," said Angelina Sondakh in Tebet, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/4/2022).

1. Many Differences

There are so many differences when Angelina Sondakh is fasting inside prison and at home. The most noticeable difference is that now Angelina Sondakh can cook suhoor and iftar meals for Keanu.

"Now Alhamdulillah, we have hot food. I can have suhoor with Keanu, and after suhoor, around 7:30, I can do activities and then sleep after dawn," she said.

2. Very Sad

Angelina Sondakh felt sad for nine years fasting from prison. What makes her even sadder is that she always remembers Keanu.

"Because I have been with Keanu for nine times during sahur, there is a feeling of sadness. I also have to teach how to perform ablution correctly as much as possible with flowing water," she said.

"Sometimes, seeing Keanu's religious development makes me feel guilty and hopefully I can teach Keanu well," she added.

3. Having a Target

In addition, Angelina Sondakh apparently has a noble target and goal for Keanu in this year's Ramadan. Her target is that she wants her son to be able to become an imam when she performs worship together.

"I want Keanu to be a good imam for me because I am with Keanu. I cannot be an imam. Keanu will improve his short memorization so that he can learn to be my imam even though I have to teach Keanu a lot," said Angelina.

4. Feeling Ashamed

"I am ashamed that I cannot remember the verses when I pray subuh 4-5 times and have to follow along. I just say Qulhuallah so that I don't repeat it again. Alhamdulillah, Keanu has started to memorize, I teach him some short verses like Ad-dhuha, Al Zalzalah, teach Keanu to be able to vary subuh, maghrib, and isya prayers," Angelina concluded.
