First Time Shopping During a Pandemic, Meisya Siregar Feels Uneasy

Kapanlagi.com - After several months of staying at home, Meisya Siregar finally went out to a public place for the first time amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Although not far from home and not staying long, Meisya admitted to feeling uneasy while shopping.

"So this is the very first time. After picking up report cards from school without taking a shower, I stopped by to buy fruits at the fruit store near my house," wrote Meisya Siregar as quoted from her personal Instagram.

1. Feeling Uneasy

During shopping, Meisya Siregar applies the applicable health protocols, starting from wearing a mask, face shield, to plastic gloves. Using complete personal protective equipment like that makes Meisya feel very uncomfortable and tends to disturb her shopping activities.

"Suddenly confused about what to buy, losing focus, feeling suffocated, having difficulty breathing, deaf, and not calm. When I first wore a hijab, it didn't feel this uncomfortable. Just a little hot. But why does this feel so uncomfortable, imagine how our healthcare workers feel wearing complete PPE. God bless you all," said the wife of Bebi Romeo.

2. Choosing Online Shopping

This shopping experience seems to be the first and last time for Meisya Siregar. During the ongoing pandemic, Meisya prefers to shop from home rather than getting stressed out.

"Hmmmmm... I don't want to do it anymore. It feels better to shop online. One day, when we can go to the mall without wearing a mask, breathe freely, dress up nicely, let the kids run around freely, enjoy comfortable hangouts, then I'll be back. I'll be back to public areas to refresh, not to stress," she continued.

3. Many Agree

Apparently, this is not only felt by Meisya Siregar. Many netizens agree that using complete personal protective equipment in the midst of a pandemic somewhat affects their activities in public spaces.

Hopefully, this corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic will end soon so that we can resume normal activities as before.
