For Puan Maharani, Women Have a Great Contribution in Preserving National Culture

The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that Indonesian women are raised by ancestral culture, which gives them the determination to preserve it. According to Puan, women play two important roles as cultural defenders.

"Firstly, as cultural agents, women have a central role and contribute greatly to creating and preserving cultural products in society," said Puan Maharani when opening a Wayang Kulit performance on TVRI, Senayan, Jakarta, in commemoration of Kartini Day recently.

According to women who have received the honor of Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana, women must actively contribute to preserving ancestral culture. She also said that women's role in the family is significant and valuable.

"Family is the starting point of someone's life. The values instilled in the family will guide someone's life. My hope is that every family in Indonesia becomes the starting point of the Indonesian people's love for the nation's culture," said Puan.

2. Awareness of the Young Generation

She added that the younger generation must realize that products and cultural values from various regions are part of Indonesia's beauty and uniqueness that must be preserved together.

"In the end, all of us, both women and men, need to protect and preserve Indonesian culture," said the 47-year-old woman.
