Putu Ayu Saraswati, Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2020 Admires Women in the Animal World During Kartini Day Celebration

“Because in April, we coincide with Kartini Day on the 21st. Jakarta Aquarium and Safari is an institution dedicated to conservation, so we combine ideas of women empowerment and the preservation of nature and wildlife,” said Putu Ayu Saraswati at Jakarta Aquarium & Safari (JAQS), Neo Soho Mall, West Jakarta recently.

“I am amazed by the women of JAQS because of their genuine love for wildlife, nature, and the environment, which is evident in their work,” she continued.

According to Ayu Saraswati, the work of women in the world of wildlife is also not easy. This shows that women can also contribute to the preservation of wildlife and the environment.

"After getting to know them better and knowing that their responsibilities are the same as their male colleagues, without any difference, it is clear how great their love and dedication is," said Putu Ayu Saraswati.

"This shows that women are capable of contributing to the preservation of wildlife and the environment. The challenge is themselves and the notion that each woman has the same, even more, capacity, and this breaks the statement that wild life is a man's world," she continued.

2. Meaning of Kartini Day

On that occasion, Putu Ayu Saraswati interpreted Kartini Day as a reminder and encouragement for herself to always make changes in the present era, just like what RA Kartini did during the colonial era.

"Personally, Kartini Day serves as a reminder that in the past, even during the colonial era, there were women who came to give hope and make changes not only for women but also for the people around them. An RA Kartini was able to make a change that we can feel now," she explained.

"A great woman is someone who can be honest with herself, follow her heart, and dare to take a stand and lead a change that they want to see," she concluded.
