Silda Oktavia Rossa went to the SPKT to report artist Chikita Meidy to the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta. The report is related to allegations of defamation on the social media platform TikTok.
The woman who claims to report Chikita Meidy, whom she acknowledges as a friend, alleges that she has tarnished Silda Oktavia Rossa's reputation. Erik Hutajulung, Silda's legal counsel, has submitted the report documents to the investigator.
"So we, the legal counsel for Mrs. Silda Oktavia Rossa, are officially filing a report today regarding the alleged criminal act of defamation committed by the account Cerita Chikita," said Erik at the Metro Jaya Police, Thursday (12/9/2024).
"Because that account made statements that harmed our client," Erik added.
The initial suspicion of defamation occurred when Chikita Meidy was doing a live broadcast and mentioned Silda as the mastermind behind her cosmetic business losses in 2018.
"Here is the Tiktok account of Chikita Meidy or Erita Chikita. Broadcasting live on September 6. So on September 6, that account went live and allegedly defamed me and mentioned my profession, stating that I caused losses to her previous business," said Silda.
Indeed, previously Silda, along with Chikita Meidy and another friend, built a business together. However, due to one reason or another, they ultimately did not continue the business.
"At that time, the three of us also withdrew from the business. There might have been some disappointment there, and we only promoted it, and if someone wanted to leave, we would inform him that this is my friend who wants to buy, and later he would pay to him, transfer to him, and he would send it," Silda explained.
Erik stated that Chikita Meidy is entangled in Article 3.10 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 27A in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 4 of the ITE Law, which is Law Number 1 of 2024.
"The threat here is 2 years and a fine of 400 million, that’s the latest because the ITE Law is Law Number 1 of 2024," Erik concluded.
