Former Lawyer Reveals the Story Behind Baim Wong's Divorce Lawsuit: Paula Still Hopes for Reconciliation

"Today I feel the need to convey information to clarify our position as Paula's legal counsel. So, I want to state here that indeed Paula is our client, who came to our office back in April," said Ana Sofa Yuking in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/10/2024).

According to Ana, Paula first came in for a consultation regarding the possibility of divorce from Baim Wong. At that time, Paula admitted that she still hoped her marriage could be repaired, even though the situation was quite dire.   "Paula came to the office for a consultation regarding the divorce plan between Paula and Baim as her husband. But Paula hoped at that time that this divorce would not happen, that their relationship could still be repaired," she continued.

After a few months passed, in May, Paula finally authorized Ana and her team to help resolve the household issues. The legal team then began communicating with Baim Wong's party through his legal representative. 

Ana emphasized that their effort is to ensure that if divorce is unavoidable, the process can be conducted amicably.   "As the legal team, we have made extraordinary efforts, including communicating with Baim's side. We hope that even if this marriage cannot be maintained, the divorce process should be carried out amicably," Ana explained.

This couple has been in a marriage for a long time, and of course, there are many parties involved in their lives, including their extended families and their underage children. This is one of the main concerns in handling this case.   "It would be best to do it peacefully, considering they each have large families and also young children. This certainly needs to be carefully considered," he added.

According to Ana, Baim Wong has pronounced talak (divorce) to Paula six months ago, and they have also been living separately. Despite this, Paula still holds hope for a chance to repair the relationship.

However, when Paula requested more time, Baim's decision to proceed legally was already firm. In the end, Baim filed for a divorce lawsuit at the South Jakarta Religious Court.

"Paula still hopes that this relationship can be repaired. However, it turns out that since our meeting on Sunday, just two days later, Baim has already registered his divorce lawsuit at the South Jakarta Religious Court," Ana revealed.

This news is certainly shocking to many, especially considering how much hope Paula had to maintain her marriage. Now, with the official lawsuit filed by Baim Wong, the fate of their household will soon be determined in court.   "We have conveyed to Paula, wouldn't it be better to resolve this? If it really can't be maintained, Paula can file for divorce or wait for a lawsuit from Baim," said Ana.

Unfortunately, Ana said that Paula recently suddenly revoked the letter of request for power of attorney withdrawal. Therefore, Ana is no longer Paula's legal counsel.
