Many netizens claim that Hotman has converted or changed his religion. Is this true?
He clarified that it is not true. Hotman said that the photo was taken when he was attending the funeral of the late Dr. Ir. H. Salahuddin Wahid or Gus Sholah at the Tebuireng Islamic boarding school in Jombang, East Java. He passed away on Sunday (2/2).
He appeared quite relaxed and mingled with other kyai (Islamic scholars) at the Tebuireng Islamic boarding school.
In addition, Hotman also took the time to vlog with the students of Tebuireng.
The news of Gus Sholah's passing made Hotman immediately fly from Bali to Surabaya, and then continue to Jombang by land.
It is known that Hotman is a friend of Gus Sholah. He was even invited to give a lecture at the Islamic boarding school founded by Hadratussekh KH Hasyim Asyari.
