Armed with knowledge and courage, in 2003, Haji Isam secured capital to rent heavy mining equipment. He started his venture as a contractor at PT Arutmin Indonesia (part of PT Bumi Resources Tbk) under the banner of CV Jhonlin Baratama. This bold step became a solid foundation for his business empire, which is now widely recognized.
Success in coal mining was not the only focus for Haji Isam. He is known for his smart business diversification strategy. The Jhonlin Group has now ventured into various sectors, generating extremely fantastic revenue.
Jhonlin Group also manages palm oil plantations and palm oil processing plants, including a biodiesel plant inaugurated by President Jokowi. This step demonstrates its commitment to sustainable economic development.
In the transportation sector, Haji Isam has a fleet of barges to transport coal and an airline company (Jhonlin Air Transport) with airplanes and helicopters. This shows the very large scale of his business.
