From Syifa Hadju and Alyssa Daguise, Angga Yunanda Finds It More Difficult to Act with Elmand in 'CATATAN SI BOY'

Kapanlagi.com - Angga Yunanda is chosen to play the iconic character named Boy in the movie CATATAN SI BOY. The romantic drama by Hanung Bramantyo is a reboot of the popular film of the same title in the 80s.

Despite the burden, Angga finds it easy to play the character of Boy. He has prepared well since the reading process.

"To become Boy runs smoothly because the preparation is quite long, from reading and workshop fighting because there are several action sequences. I also watched the original film as a reference and kept asking the director," said Angga when met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Monday (12/6/2023).

1. Close During the Filming Process

In addition to Boy, the iconic character of the movie CATATAN SI BOY is Emon, which was played by the late Didi Petet. In this reboot version, the character of Emon is played by a newcomer named Elmand.

Angga Yunanda admitted that he had little time to build chemistry with Elmand because he was the last actor to join. Their closeness arose during the filming process.

"Until two weeks before filming, I only met with the actor who played Emon. Our bonding time was during the filming process. But Elmand, in my opinion, is very mature even though this is his first film with a lot of parts, but there were no difficulties in approaching the character, filming, it just flowed," said Angga.

2. More Difficult Than Syifa Hadju

For Angga Yunanda, the most difficult shooting was actually with Elmand compared to other actors like Syifa Hadju or Alyssa Daguise. Because he didn't have enough time to get familiar and build chemistry with Elmand.

"It's quite difficult with Elmand. Because with the actors who joined earlier, we already had a good connection, and suddenly the character Emon appeared and he's one of the prominent characters. He really adds sweetness and makes the shooting more colorful," said Angga Yunanda.
