Gebby Vesta Reveals the Reason She Chooses Foreigners Instead of Indonesians: They Are More Open Minded

However, because transgender individuals are still not widely accepted in Indonesia, especially in terms of friendships and romantic relationships, Gebby Vesta admits to preferring foreigners over Indonesians.

"Right now, I feel more comfortable with foreigners, like foreigners. Because they are more open minded," said Gebby Vesta in a YouTube video with Ussy Andhika, on Tuesday (3/2).

1. Foreign Men Are More Open-minded

Gebby Vesta also revealed that when she was honest with foreigners about being transgender, they were not shocked and there was no rejection, even though she is a waria (transgender woman).

"So when I'm honest and say I'm transgender, they are not shocked. So they think, 'are you really transgender? Because when they see me, I don't look transgender'. So it's more like that," she explained.

2. Rejected by Indonesians

In contrast to the treatment she receives from foreigners, Gebby Vesta actually faces unpleasant treatment from Indonesians. When she admits to being transgender, people would apologize and distance themselves from her.

"But with Indonesians, most of the time when we introduce ourselves as transgender, they say 'oh sorry, I don't like transgender'. Sometimes I think, you're still so racist," she expressed.

"Even if you don't want to have any relationship with transgender people in any context. At least, is it necessary for you to be disgusted with transgender people as friends?" added this sexy DJ.
