Geisha Vocalist Regina Poetiray Undergoes Surgery Due to Ankle Ligament Injury

Kapanlagi.com - The vocalist of the band Geisha, Regina Poetiray, has just undergone surgery due to an ankle ligament injury at RS Murni Teguh Sudirman Jakarta, on Tuesday (25/7/2023). Although the surgery has been completed, Regina is still in the recovery phase and admits that her condition has improved.

"Now, of course, the condition has improved, the leg is already fine, but it's still in recovery, still numb, so I don't feel anything," said Regina Poetiray to Kapanlagi.com, on Tuesday (25/7/2023).

1. The Surgery is Complicated

Regina explained that the operation process went quite fast. In fact, she said it only took one hour.

"The operation entered the operating room at 9 o'clock and arrived in the ward at half past one, so it took quite a long time. But the actual operation only waited for me to regain consciousness for quite a while," she said.

2. Sports Accident

Regina recounted the beginning of her ankle ligament injury which originated from a sports accident.

"The pain is actually from a torn ligament in my ankle due to a previous sprain during sports and then there was prolonged pain that didn't go away," she said.

"After being treated, it came and went because of excessive sports training. Sprained and overtrained," she added.

3. Since Late May 2023

Regina has experienced this injury since late May 2023 and it was only detected through an MRI in mid-June, which showed a tear in the ankle ligament. Regina admitted that she never expected her injury to continue to require surgery.

"Initially, I never expected it to go as far as surgery. Because it's like the pain was still there from time to time when I used it for sports, it came and went. So, I decided to have surgery," concluded Regina.
