The passing of father Gilang Dirga, Wendy Indra, not only left a wound for his children but also for his grandson, Gin. Gilang Dirga's son is known to have an extraordinary closeness with his grandfather.
All this time, Gin considered his grandfather not just a parent, but a playmate and his best friend every day. Gilang revealed that his son calls the late grandfather by a special name taken from the South Sumatran dialect.

The departure of the grandfather was a heavy blow for Gin, who although still small, seems to understand the meaning of loss. Gilang's sorrow was multiplied many times over when he saw his child's reaction.
According to Gilang, his father was his number one supporter in his entertainment career, and a very warm figure for other family members including his wife, Adiezty Fersa.
"Support, entertain support, support everywhere. But what makes me sad many times over is because of Gin. So Gin calls the late grandfather Unggang. Unggang is the term for grandfather in Oku, South Sumatra," said Gilang Dirga with teary eyes in Jatibening, Bekasi, Wednesday (31/12/2025).
The closeness between the grandfather and grandson is indeed very strong in the daily life of the Gilang family. For Gin, the figure of "Unggang" is someone who is always there to accompany him in playing and chatting.
"Well, Unggang is really his best friend. That’s his best friend, Unggang. So Gin is losing not just his grandfather but also his best friend. That’s how it is," said Gilang.
Even at a young age, Gin shows signs that he understands his grandfather has gone forever. Gilang also asks for prayers from media colleagues and the public so that his family is given strength. "It seems like he understands already. So when he came to see the body, he was already crying. So please pray for us, friends," said Gilang Dirga.
Besides Gin, Adiezty Fersa also feels a great loss because their relationship was very close, like that of a father and son. The passing of the deceased at the age of 63 has left a huge void in the hearts of all family members. "Very close. Very close. Because it was like his own father for Adiez," concluded Gilang Dirga.
