He made this statement while attending the AIDEA Weeks 2025 event, a discussion forum that brings together AI practitioners and creative industry players, at the National Gallery, Friday (14/11/2025). Giring acknowledged that AI is now capable of creating works of art, including songs, but the quality is still far below that of works born from human emotions and experiences.

Giring cites works from renowned musicians in the country that he believes are impossible to replicate by artificial intelligence.

"AI artists cannot replace songs by Eros Chandra, Sal Priadi, or Baskara. AI lacks the essence," said Giring.

"We must ensure that AI does not replace their roles. Instead, AI should assist artists and cultural figures in their creations," he stated.

The former vocalist of the band Nidji also advised that the advancement of AI must always align with its purpose to serve human needs, rather than taking over the essential roles of humans themselves.

"AI advancing is not a problem, as long as it does not harm. Its duty is to serve human needs, not to replace," emphasized Giring.
