Kapanlagi.com - One of Indonesia's legendary bands, God Bless, has been in the music industry for 50 years. Certainly, 50 years is not a short time for Ahmad Albar and the band, and as a band, this is a pride for rock music lovers in the country.
For this achievement, God Bless has received appreciation from many parties. After releasing the Anthology 50th Anniversary album and holding a golden concert on November 10th, God Bless also received a record from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) as the Oldest Active Rock Band.

Jaya Suprana, as a representative of MURI, stated that God Bless' achievement is something that deserves appreciation. Despite facing many obstacles, Achmad Albar and his colleagues have been active for 50 years.
"Indeed, reaching 50 years is extraordinary. It's okay if it's the longest, but it's very difficult to sustain. That's why we will give the MURI record for 50 years of God Bless," said Jaya Suprana in a virtual interview on Thursday (2/11).
"For MURI, this is very meaningful because it is to inspire other musicians, who knows there might be other bands that can surpass it. But it's not easy, because Bless will still continue," he added.
Ahmad Albar considers the MURI appreciation as a very special award. The record given is a complement to the celebration of God Bless' 50 years of work in the national music industry.
"I am grateful to receive this award from MURI. Just pray that we can still continue for a few more years," said the man who is familiarly called Iyek.
Not only that, Ahmad Akbar feels that God Bless has many meanings, especially since he has been involved since the band was formed.
"For us, God Bless means a lot. We all live because of God Bless, we started from scratch, faced many challenges. We are proud to have survived for 50 years," Ahmad Albar concluded.
