The departure of Oxavia Aldiano or Vidi Aldiano to the embrace of God has brought deep sorrow to thousands of people, both those who attended the 40-day prayer in person and those who prayed through social media. Habib Jafar, who attended the event, assessed that this phenomenon reflects the charitable deeds left by the musician.
For Habib Jafar, the gathering of hundreds of people to pray, connect, and share a meal together is a form of goodness triggered by the late Vidi. Vidi's departure at the age of 35 serves as a reminder to everyone about the nature of life and death that cannot be predicted.
"Alhamdulillah, the late Vidi was able to bring together hundreds of people offline, and then thousands online to gather, connect, eat together, which is also a goodness, and pray for the late Vidi. And most importantly, it reminds us of death. That is the best advice for us from Vidi. The lesson for us from Vidi is to live as best as we can even when we are sick, and to pass away in the best state while always remembering death when we are alive," said Habib Jafar when met by KapanLagi at Nurul Hidayah Mosque, Tanah Kusir, South Jakarta, Saturday (18/4/2026).
The message about memento mori or remembering death becomes the main point drawn by Habib Jafar from the late Vidi. Vidi has taught society that even when someone is afflicted by physical suffering, the spirit to remain beneficial to others must not fade.
