Hanung Bramantyo Declares His Son's Case Resolved After Mediation

Meeting in the Kemang area of South Jakarta on Saturday (22/8/2026), the director stated that the legal process has gone through mediation in the military court and is now declared complete.

He explained that the mediation was conducted officially, with the presence of a military judge, resulting in a resolution that is acceptable to all parties.

"Yes, actually Alhamdulillah we have all been mediated by the court. So this is what I hoped for. The mediation was carried out in an official manner, indeed in the military court and witnessed by the judge, mediated directly by the military judge, so what we have done, the incidents that have happened to us, do not actually harm each other now. But it becomes a kind of good brotherhood," said Hanung Bramantyo.

1. The Mediation Process in Military Courts

According to Hanung Bramantyo, the mediation held in military courts is a key step in resolving cases. He believes that the formal format with judicial oversight ensures that all parties are heard and that agreements are recorded according to procedure.

Hanung mentioned that the results of the meeting have a positive impact because no party feels aggrieved. He appreciates the orderly process and the legally binding decisions.

From the mediation, the parties agreed to reconcile through the mechanisms applicable in court. Hanung emphasized the appreciation for the process facilitated by the military judiciary.

On the other hand, Hanung does not turn a blind eye to the fact that the incident has affected Kala Madali's psychological condition. He acknowledges that there is a burden felt by the child during the process.

"I fully understand that this is indeed psychologically detrimental to my child, but my child also needs to learn, we also need to learn how to forgive. However, the process of forgiveness must be carried out in a legal manner, you know, in a procedural way," he said.

Hanung emphasized that the choice to forgive is still pursued through legal channels. This way, the decisions made are documented, have legal force, and provide certainty for all parties involved.

3. Cooperative Attitude, Zaskia's Role, and the Case's Conclusion

During the legal process, Hanung stated that his side was cooperative. He opened the door for resolution, including the willingness to forgive in accordance with the decisions being made in court.

"We are open. So when the judge carries it out, whether Mas Hanung or Kala's parents will forgive the perpetrator or the defendant? We will say we will forgive," he revealed.

Hanung also shared about the work schedule arrangements while the process was still ongoing. He mentioned that during the mediation, he was on a shooting location, so he asked his wife, Zaskia Adya Mecca, to accompany him in court.

"Well, during the mediation process, thank God Zaskia was the one accompanying me because I was on set at that time, working on a big film production with a producer from Korea, so I couldn't, I couldn't leave that, so I asked Zaskia to handle the mediation," he said.

To conclude his statement, Hanung conveyed that the entire process was complete and the peace agreement had been carried out through official mechanisms.

"It's clear, it continues, meaning in court it has been done, then mediated by the extraordinary court and I appreciate that. But the decision to reconcile and all that has been made. It's finished," concluded Hanung Bramantyo.
