El Rumi Dragged into Initial Issue 'EJR', Legal Counsel Requests Official Report

Kapanlagi.com - The name El Rumi was mentioned in the issue of alleged sexual harassment circulating on social media after an anonymous account on Threads uploaded a confession mentioning the initials of the alleged perpetrator EJR. This initial was then linked by several netizens to Ahmad El Jalaludin Rumi.

"Who was the first to speak?" said Aldwin Rahadian, El Rumi's legal counsel, when confirmed at the Metro Jaya Police on Friday (21/8/2026). He emphasized that information sourced from an anonymous account cannot be held accountable.

Aldwin believes that the widespread discussion of the initials EJR on social media is not sufficient grounds to drag his client's name into this matter. According to him, the most fundamental point that needs to be answered is the origin of the circulating information.

"Oh, anonymous... Ah, that cannot be held accountable, right? Especially since the initials are EJR, right?" said Aldwin.

He added that because the source comes from an account without identity, the truth of the statement cannot be tested. This is why his side is requesting clear clarification before any conclusions are directed towards El Rumi.

1. Discussing the Initials EJR and the Ambiguity of the Chronology

In response to the match between the initials EJR and the full name El Rumi, Aldwin explained that the similarity of initials alone cannot be used as evidence of involvement. He also highlighted the ambiguity of the circulating story.

"Even if it is linked to El, if the story is from four years ago or how many years ago, it's not clear either. Right, the person is still not married, has many friends, and so on. But because the initials are very similar to El's full name, yes," he explained.

Aldwin emphasized that without a clear chronology and a clear identity from the party making the statement, such accusations risk causing misunderstandings. Therefore, he urged the public not to hastily connect the initials with a specific individual.

2. Encouragement for Official Reports and Legal Representation

If there are parties who feel they have experienced something unreasonable related to their client, Aldwin invites them to report officially, not through anonymous accounts. He believes that legal channels are the appropriate mechanism for events to be clearly examined.

"So if someone claims something later, don't be anonymous, okay? Don't be anonymous, try to show it, report it officially, okay? Report it officially, yes, like that. So if necessary, there can be legal processes and so on, please," Aldwin asserted.

Aldwin also revealed that he has been officially appointed as El Rumi's legal representative. This appointment was made to anticipate the impact of the circulating issues, including the numerous confirmation requests received by his client.

"So just as a precaution that El has indeed appointed me as his legal representative because it’s also unfortunate for him to receive many calls, confirming whether it's true or not, it's unfortunate for his work," he concluded.
