House Surrounded by Flood, Family Moves Chris Pattikawa's Body Using a Stretcher

Cantika Abigail, who is Chris Pattikawa's granddaughter, recounted the chronology when the family found out that Rina Hasyim's husband had passed away.

"It turns out that it happened, he passed away a little after 5, before half past six, because the nurse was also sleeping there, the nurse woke up and prayed. After that, she was going to change the diapers, but when she was changing them, he didn't move anymore and didn't breathe," she said in Pluit, North Jakarta, on Thursday (2/1).

1. Wake Up Other Family Members Immediately

After realizing that there was no response from Chris Pattikawa, the nurse who was taking care of him immediately woke up the other family members.

"The nurse went to wake up oma's younger brother, she said that opa seemed to have stopped breathing, then she woke up mama upstairs, basically everyone who was upstairs, and when she checked downstairs, indeed he had stopped breathing," said Cantika.

Being in a rainy and flooded condition, fortunately there were still several families living around the house to help.

"Luckily there were several families living nearby who helped to carry if necessary, the situation was during the rain, and the flood had reached the front although it didn't enter, we were in Pulomas," she continued.

2. Moved Using a Stretcher

Shortly after the doctor performed the autopsy, the flood in their area had already entered the house. This then made it difficult for the family to transport Chris's body to the ambulance.

"When we wanted to transport him, we called the ambulance, but the flood had already entered when the doctor performed the autopsy. So, in less than half an hour, the ambulance couldn't enter the house," said a member of GAC.

The stretcher finally became the only tool used to move Chris's body. "Finally, we found another way, using a stretcher, we had to carry it out of the flood and into the ambulance," she continued.
