Kapanlagi.com - Rapper and musician Young Lex is known to have been involved as a campaign team member for Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD during the 2024 presidential election momentum. Young Lex's joining of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD's success team certainly surprised the public.
Especially since he has always been against anything related to politics. Regarding this matter, Young Lex finally spoke up, confirming that he used to be very anti towards discussions and also joining the political stage.
"I was really anti-politics, man, very anti. But it turns out that it can't be like that. You have to care about it," said Young Lex when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Saturday (27/7).

Young Lex also started to change his stance when he met great people in politics, one of them being Mahfud MD. Although Mahfud MD did not win the position of Vice President of Indonesia, the man whose real name is Samuel Alexander Pieter does not mind, as he has gained a lot of knowledge about life and Indonesian politics.
"I repeatedly meet the right people to learn about politics, one of whom can be said to be Mr. Mahfud MD, my mentor; I am helping him now," he said.
"If it's called helping, then just help; I help good people just to that extent. I feel that I am somewhat similar to him. Both of us are like cars with brakes that are a bit far off, until there are no brakes, just like Mr. Mahfud," he added.

Moreover, learning about politics with Mahfud MD, Young Lex concluded that what governs Indonesian politics is policy politics and budget policy. As a musician and also a player in the creative industry, Young Lex thinks he must understand and participate in this, as a form of his concern for the music industry.
"If I don't care, then who will? Are there other musicians who care about policies? So I have to be on that path," he asserted.
