The legal team of Denny Sumargo, Mochamad Anwar and Sogi Bagaskara, officially reported Farhat Abbas to Polda Metro Jaya. However, behind this legal action, Denny Sumargo admitted that he initially did not intend to prolong the issue.
"Actually, I consider this issue to be resolved, it was already peaceful. But then it was prolonged again, at first I thought, 'Where is this person going?','" said Denny Sumargo at Polda Metro Jaya, Monday (18/11/2024).
Denny, who is more commonly known as Densu, feels that the issue with Farhat has actually been resolved after he visited the lawyer's house some time ago. During that meeting, he hoped that the conflict could end soon without needing to go to the legal realm. However, that hope was dashed after Farhat took a different step.
Farhat Abbas instead reported Denny Sumargo to the South Jakarta Police. The report includes allegations of racial discrimination and hate speech that are considered to have been committed by Densu. This action has made the situation even more heated, even though initially Denny wanted this issue to be resolved quickly.
"I really don't want to prolong this issue. But this is just a precaution. And I feel that what my lawyer has done is correct," said Denny Sumargo.
Denny admitted that the decision to involve legal counsel was made after receiving input from his legal team. Because of that support, Denny finally decided to report to the police.
"It turns out I was contacted by my lawyer. He said, 'Den, this can't be left alone because this person has gone too far.' I thought, well, that's why I gave them a power of attorney to handle it legally. As a citizen, I have rights," said Denny Sumargo.
Although he fully entrusted the matter to the legal team, Denny admitted he did not intend to prolong the conflict. He also felt surprised by the serious attention given by the Metro Jaya Police regarding his report.
"I was also surprised by the attention from the police. I am very grateful because my report really needs to be processed immediately," he said.
For Denny Suamrgo, this step is important to address the turmoil between Novi and Agus regarding the 1.5 billion donation that is increasingly widespread. He actually also wants this issue to be resolved peacefully.
"The uproar that has arisen is caused by the initial issue between Novi and Agus that has spread everywhere. Hopefully, this will be a bright spot to resolve the legal process that I am facing," he concluded. Stay tuned for updates from Denny on KapanLagi.com, if not now, when?
