Initially Hesitant, Rangga Nattra Turns Out to Have No Difficulty Acting with Della Dartyan in the Series 'PULANG'

Kapanlagi.com - Actor and director Rangga Nattra is involved in the production of the latest series titled PULANG. Interestingly, his co-star is Della Dartyan who is his own friend.

When contacted by Kapanlagi.com via telephone on Tuesday (8/2), Rangga Nattra admitted that at first he was hesitant whether he and Della Dartyan could focus during the scenes. But it turned out that his fears were unfounded because he considered Della to be a very professional person.

"Of course we laughed, at first we thought we would laugh during the shooting, it would be difficult to be serious but it turned out not, when we transformed into our characters, we didn't bring Rangga and Della anymore, in my opinion Della is also serious so our collaboration is enjoyable," said Rangga Nattra.

1. Interested in Shooting Together Again

This 32-year-old man also mentioned that he and his friend have been calling each other by the names of the characters they played. However, Rangga said that he would be very interested if there were offers for shooting and acting together with Della Dartyan again.

"On set, we don't call each other by our real names, but by the names of our characters. Even our behavior is different, we have become the characters. Not yet, not with Della," he said.

2. Follow Health Protocols During Shooting

Moreover, considering the current pandemic situation, Rangga Nattra claimed that he is not worried. This is because health protocols are strictly followed on the shooting location, and he and the other cast and crew members regularly undergo antigen tests for everyone's safety.

"No, because health protocols are strictly enforced and our activities are limited to the hotel and shooting location. During breaks, we are not allowed to go anywhere, so we have been warned not to leave," he explained.

"There is also a regular schedule for temperature checks and antigen tests. We are always checked, masks are not allowed to be removed, and our activities are only from the hotel to the shooting location every day," he added.

3. Being a Calm Javanese Man

For Rangga, this project is very interesting and challenging for him. Because the shooting preparation is tight, Rangga is required to be able to speak the Yogyakarta dialect to deepen the character he plays. He mentioned that the character Tama is the opposite of his true personality.

"His role as Tama, a man from Jogja, he is calm but constantly has conflicts with his girlfriend played by Della Dartyan as Dewi. This is a family drama with a lot of emotional dynamics. There are layers within layers. And why the title PULANG (Homecoming) will have each character's story that will meet at one common thread," said Rangga Nattra.

"Coincidentally, the difficulty in finding the accent. I don't want the audience to think 'wow, this is a person from Jakarta speaking Javanese'. So here, it's attached to someone from Jogja to have a dialogue coach for finding the Jogja accent," he continued.

4. Character Deepening Process

Rangga also shared how he deepened the character of Tama. He said that before filming started, he came first to explore Jogja and observe how the people around him interacted in their daily lives.

"I did some research by walking around the market and observing how the people in Jogja are like. I came early before filming started. Actually, I just had to recall the accent because I have played a Javanese character before. It's not that difficult to adapt to the Javanese environment," he said.

5. Reflection of Daily Life

In addition, Rangga Nattra also stated that the series 'PULANG' has its own message for the audience, considering the storyline is relatable to everyday life. However, Rangga admitted that the character Tama he played is different from his own hyperactive personality.

"There are many characters that are relatable to normal life. That's why me and my friends want to present the message in this series to reach the audience and provide lessons. It's like a recording of real life that can be used as a reference, like watching CCTV," he explained.

"I am actually very different from the character Tama, he is soft while I am very active. When I play Tama, it's a completely different character, so I have to eliminate Rangga's personality," he added.
