Considering the involvement of big names whose acting quality is unquestionable, the producer must prepare a special budget to pay their fees. Is the total amount in billions of rupiah?

"I want to take this project to a higher level. And after discussing it, we thought of giving a relatively large fee to the cast. As for the budget, it's relative. Because we prioritize quality and want to attract more audience," said Sunil Samtani, the producer from Rapi Films when met in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/1/2022).

2. Representing Characters

As a director and showrunner, Nia Dinata from Kalyana Shira Films revealed that they are not random in selecting actors. They still go through the casting process and choose who can bring the characters in this series to life.

"We cast after the first draft of the script is done. From there, it's already visible. For me, it's important who can represent that character and have chemistry with these people," said Nia on the same occasion.

3. Presenting Dark Comedy

CONDOLENCES is a drama comedy series that will be aired on the streaming service WeTV. Lesley Simpson, the executive producer and country head of WeTV, believes that this latest series production will attract attention not only in Indonesia but also worldwide.

"WeTV has often presented comedy. But this time, we're giving dark comedy through the dialogue and plot. Hopefully, it can be accepted in Indonesia and go viral," hopes Lesley.

The TURUT BERDUKA CITA series opens with the death of renowned businessman Rauf Affan, who has three children. There's Mita, a single mother, Ella, who aspires to make her husband a governor, and the youngest son, Rasyid, who is unmarried.
