Initially Planned for Marriage, Father Reveals Gaga Muhammad's Wish to Meet Laura for the Last Time

Asep Yusman, Gaga Muhammad's father, visited the funeral home of Grand Heaven Jakarta, Pluit, North Jakarta, on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at around 10.30 AM accompanied by Lawyer Fahmi Bachmid. His visit to the deceased's house is to express condolences for the departure of Laura Anna.

"We can't say much in this condition. I can only express, on behalf of our family, our deep condolences, especially Gaga. Yesterday, he asked me for permission to please let me see Laura," said Asep Yusman.

"May Laura be accepted by God and placed in God's house," added Fahmi, the lawyer.

Asep Yusman admitted that he has not been able to meet Laura's family until now. This is because the situation does not allow it.

"The situation does not allow it, worrying that it might disturb the atmosphere of mourning," answered Asep Yusman.

"On behalf of the family, we express our condolences. This is also Gaga's wish for her father to come here, so we cannot comment on anything, we can only express our condolences," Fahmi continued.

Furthermore, Gaga's father said that Gaga has a desire to meet Laura for the last time.

"He only has a request to be able to see Laura for the last time, that's all. He told his lawyer to ask for it from the Council, yesterday I conveyed it to the prosecutor's office, but the prosecutor's office referred it to the Court, because the authority is already there," said Asep Yusman.

When asked if this has been conveyed to Laura's family, Fahmi said that it will be conveyed later considering the grieving condition.

"I will convey it later. I can't comment much because I am still in a grieving state," Fahmi replied.

Before being brought to the legal realm, initially Gaga's side planned to resolve the issue within the family. In fact, Gaga's parents also planned to marry their child to Laura Anna.

"Even from her mother's family, they discussed the idea of getting married. But what happened is the legal process is ongoing, perhaps feeling that there is no need for further discussion within the family," said Fahmi Bachmid at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday (9/12/2021).

5. Gaga Officially Detained

Gaga Muhammad is now officially detained at Rutan (Detention Center) Satlantas Metro East Jakarta since November 2, 2021, related to a traffic accident case. As a result of the accident, his former girlfriend, Laura Anna, who was in the car with Gaga, became paralyzed.

Regarding this case, Gaga is charged with Article 310 paragraph 3 of Law Number 22 of 2009 which discusses traffic and transportation regulations. If proven guilty, the 20-year-old man faces a maximum prison sentence of five years.

"The article applied is Article 310 paragraph 3 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning traffic and transportation. The maximum penalty is 5 years," said Public Prosecutor Handri at the East Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (7/12/2021).
