Introducing the Concept of D-Pop, Carollyne Dewi 'the Granddaughter of Grandpa Sugiono' Releases New Single

The woman from Malang who idolizes Inul Daratista once released an album titled Hanya Untukmu (Only For You). Her name also became popular because she was mentioned by netizens as the granddaughter of former Japanese adult film actor, Shigeo Tokuda or Grandpa Sugiono. However, Carol doesn't think too much about it.

"Pop and dangdut are very familiar to me. If pop dangdut is combined, it can make the body sway. Moreover, dangdut is the identity of Indonesian music that needs to be loved and continuously developed. I also want to introduce D-Pop or Dangdut Pop in Indonesia, just like K-Pop in Korea," said Carol.

The song Duhai Kekasihku is not separate from the theme of love. This time, Carol's new song takes a perspective from the woman's side about loving an excessive lover, or in today's language called a love slave or bucin.

"So, this is indeed about a girl's infatuation with her boyfriend, as if blinded by love, even though she is often hurt. But the girl still doesn't want to separate from her boyfriend," said Carol.

The release of this new single continues to make Carol optimistic to compete in the music industry of the homeland. "Hopefully, this single can be accepted and can entertain Indonesian music lovers," she said.
