Inul Daratista's Former Office Boy Faces 7 Years in Prison, Following a Case of Company Asset Theft Worth Hundreds of Millions of Rupiah

Kapanlagi.com - The theft case involving former employee Inul Daratista, an office boy at her karaoke outlet in Sunter, North Jakarta, continues to unfold in the North Jakarta District Court.

The case began with a report received on June 29, 2024. The former employee Inul is suspected of absconding with a car, laptop, and company assets worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.

The public relations of the North Jakarta District Court confirmed that the victim in this case is PT Vista Mitra Indonesia, the company managed by the famous singer from East Java.

1. The Crime Modus Operandi is Quite Planned

"The one who mentioned the victim is an artist is not in the documents. What exists there is indeed the victim, PT. Vista Mitra Indonesia, which according to information is Inul Daratista's company," said Mayono, the Public Relations of the North Jakarta District Court, on Thursday (21/11/2024).

The modus operandi of the crime committed by the defendant, Leon Tada, is quite planned. The company's Toyota Avanza was pawned to someone named Haryanto for Rp50 million. In addition, the defendant also absconded with the company's laptop.

2. The Trial Has Started

"The stolen evidence is in the form of an Avanza car, it was pawned after I read from the indictment, taken by someone named Haryanto or someone like that, (for the price of) Rp50 million. So that’s the modus operandi," said Maryono.

The first hearing of this case was held on July 5, 2024, while the witness examination agenda was conducted on July 19. The next agenda is scheduled for July 26 for the reading of the indictment by the prosecutor.

"The trial has started, only the indictment is left. So in a week from the indictment, there will be a verdict," he said.

3. Losses Reach Hundreds of Millions

The losses suffered by PT Vista Mitra Indonesia are estimated to reach Rp136 million. In addition to the car that was pawned, other assets such as laptops also form part of the charges. However, until now, the main evidence such as the car has still not been found.

"We do not know yet because the evidence taken has not been found, whether it will later be a consideration for the panel of judges, we also do not know because the decision is the authority of the panel of judges themselves," he continued.

4. One Defendant - Leon Tada

There is only one defendant in this case, namely Leon Tada. He is charged under Article 362 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of seven years. Nevertheless, the final decision remains the authority of the panel of judges handling this case.

"That is the authority of the examining judge, yes, we do not know yet. The maximum penalty can be 7 years," he said.
