Irish Bella Denies Seeking Safety, Asserts Film 'SINS' Was Not Made Cheaply: Builds 2 Studios for Total Commitment

Irish Bella dismisses the notion that her decision to produce the horror film titled Sins: Redemption or Forgiveness is merely a strategy to seek financial safety. On the contrary, the former wife of Ammar Zoni reveals that the production costs of her debut film are far from cheap.

Producer Reza Aditya confirms Ibel's statement regarding the substantial funds expended. In pursuit of the visual details desired by the director, the production team even had to build physical sets in the form of a hospital and a hotel within two studios simultaneously.

Even being an executive producer, Irish Bella acknowledges, brings far greater pressure and responsibility compared to when she was an actress. She must ensure that all production elements work synergistically.

The thorough preparations that took two months in the regions of Bogor and Jakarta are also expected to convey a strong message to its audience. The film "Sins" is confirmed to be ready for release on June 11, 2026.

"The challenge of this film is our director Sondang. So if I may vent, this film is far from cheap," said Irish Bella at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Saturday (9/5/2026).

The decision to dive into the big screen industry was made after a long discussion. For Ibel, this is a new path he must take to expand Has Pictures after previously only focusing on digital content.

"We do want to spread our wings in film. We dared to take this step and after discussions, it seems like it's just the right path. When we wanted to dive into film, we were welcomed by Mas Eca and Sondang with this. The story is also complex," said Irish Bella.

"If asked whether I would choose horror to keep the budget safe, no. I have my producer and we often argue about the budget. This is not cheap, because we are building a hotel set, a corridor. And it's not just one studio, but two studios. There are many special treatments that the director requested and how I, as a producer, realize that," explained Reza.

Reza does not deny that from a business perspective, the horror genre indeed has a stable market share in Indonesia. However, he emphasizes that the large investment they put in must correspond with the quality of the film in order to be profitable.

"Why horror? For the past few years, horror films have indeed had their audience. From a business perspective, it makes sense; the films we want to showcase should also be profitable, right?" said Reza.

Being an executive producer, Irish Bella admits, brings much heavier pressure and responsibility compared to when she was an actress.  "There are so many responsibilities. It's like an orchestra where the producer leads; we take care of the details, but it's fun. It turns out there’s a lot to think about beyond just what’s in front of the camera. Since this is a new project, I hope it will be well received," said Irish Bella.
