It's Been A While Since He Appeared After Failing to Run for Office, Dede Sunandar Now Works in an Office

Kapanlagi.com - For the past few months, comedian Dede Sunandar has not been active on screen. Apparently, Dede is busy with other activities outside the entertainment world. For several months now, after he lost in the election, Dede decided to take a break from TV as he is involved in a job in the medical equipment industry.

"I actually work at a company in the medical equipment department and manage its social media. So I’ve been on a break from TV; sometimes TV calls, but I’m in Jogja. So I’m really taking care of medical equipment in that area," said Dede Sunandar in Jatiwaringin, Bekasi, Thursday (26/9/2024).

Dede explained that this decision was not an easy one, but he feels that a job in the health sector offers stability and a better future.

"If on TV, I have to prepare after I... I mean, even though there are jobs, it seems like this is more promising for my career in the future," he said.

Nevertheless, Dede still accepts several offers to appear on TV if time allows. "If there’s a call like this, I’ll come. If not, I’ll work over there," said Dede Sunandar.

1. New Challenges

Working in the medical equipment field indeed presents new challenges for Dede. As part of a team responsible for introducing health products to various hospitals, he often has to travel from city to city.

"I go to the field, Alhamdulillah. So, to public hospitals, private hospitals, state hospitals," he said.

"Continuously branding our company. Our company is in this field, if you need medical equipment, you can come here with these prices. So we are the ones who talk like that," Dede added.

2. Initially Became an MC

Dede also shared how he initially got involved in this field. At first, he only participated in company events as an MC. Eventually, he was offered to join officially after meeting the company's owner.

"Initially just MCing, then I was offered a job at the company. I thought, why not? In the end, I accepted the offer," he said.

Although he is now busier with his new job, Dede claims he does not feel tired. According to him, working in the health field is just as interesting as the entertainment world.

"Not tired at all, comedy is an art, and being artistic is not tiring. But now I'm focusing on this first," he said.

3. Grateful

His busyness in this new world has also brought great benefits to Dede Sunandar's new family. He feels grateful for the facilities provided by his company, including transportation and housing.

"Yes, it feels extraordinary. I mean, there are things that are really right, which used to get up to dozens or even hundreds. Now, it’s like if I get 10 or 15, that’s already Alhamdulillah, I’m really grateful, that’s the essence of it," he said.

"I can save money now and there’s a career path. Plus, being facilitated with transportation and housing. For Dede, that’s really extraordinary," he concluded.
