Kapanlagi.com - Coinciding with National Conservation Day, which falls on August 10, 2021, the documentary film of the Forestra 2019 music festival has been uploaded to the Orchid Forest Cikole YouTube channel, Tuesday (10/8/2021).

This documentary film was made to invite viewers to reminisce about the orchestra concert in the middle of the forest titled Forestra 2019, which took place on September 28, 2019.

"This serves as a reminder for the audience, maybe it can give them spirit and optimism if they want to gather like before and the pandemic ends, so they become more eager to tighten health protocols, get vaccinated, so they become enthusiastic like that," said Forestra Executive Producer, Barry Akbar, in a virtual press conference, Tuesday (10/9/2021).

"We want to improve those things to improve health, so that when all of that is achieved, the pandemic can end, PPKM can be completed, and we can gather as usual," he added.

Interestingly, this documentary film consists of three episodes. Each episode is uploaded at different times. The first one is at 10.00 AM, while the other two documentary films are uploaded at 8.00 PM and 9.00 PM.

1. Original Works

In the first episode, it depicts their reactions when they first heard the concept of bringing orchestral music to nature. Then, the second episode shows how the grand stage design is realized.

Meanwhile, the third episode contains hopes and dreams to bring back this grand music event and make Indonesia better.

Creative Director of Forestra 2019, musician Jay Subyakto said, this documentary film is made as an original music work by Indonesian people without looking to the outside music industry.

"This is original, let's not always copy. It's all purely my thoughts and work done directly in Cikole. I think about how the audience can be comfortable, but the performance can still blend with nature. There, I try not to disturb the position of any plants. It's a tough challenge, not easy, and not cheap," said Jay Subyakto.

2. Loving Nature

In addition to providing interesting entertainment, this documentary film also conveys many positive messages, one of which is how to love nature.

"Our goal is not only to celebrate orchestral music, but also to inspire the audience to reflect on nature and its future," said Barry Akbar.

Several musicians perform in the documentary film, including Erwin Gutawa Orchestra, Isyana Sarasvati, Maliq & D'Essentials, Once Mekel, and many others. Forestra's Music Director, Erwin Gutawa, explains about the musical instruments used in the performance.

"Most of the orchestral instruments are made of wood, strings, violin, cello, wind instruments, percussion, so there is a special sensation when we bring back the sounds to their habitat," concluded Erwin Gutawa.
