Not only Keenan Nasution has spoken out about the injustice in the case of the use of the song Nuansa Bening, but his wife, Ida Royani, also voiced her opinion. The former duet partner of the late Benyamin S feels that her husband's work has helped raise the name of Vidi Aldiano in the music industry, but he is not recognized by the public as its creator.
"Vidi was previously nobody, so he became famous because of Nuansa Bening, many say Vidi is a big singer, yes, his fame is because of this (the song Nuansa Bening), if he didn't sing it, he wouldn't be," said Ida Royani in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, Tuesday (3/6/2025).
According to Ida Royani, the public is more familiar with the song from Vidi's voice rather than from its creator. In fact, the song is the work of her husband, who should receive wider recognition.
"This is what I think, because people know Vidi because of singing Nuansa Bening," she said.
The singer of the song "Hujan Gerimis" even proved this directly while chatting with the online motorcycle taxi she was riding. She often feels sad because not a single response from the public mentioned Keenan Nasution's name when asked about the song.
"I like to check when I ride ojol while Mas Keenan is busy, I ask (the ojol) 'Do you know the song Nuansa Bening?' Oh yes, Ma'am, that's cool, Who sings it?' Vidi Aldiano said the ojol. Not a single one pointed to my husband," she said.
This frustration arises from a dispute over copyright between Keenan Nasution and Vidi Aldiano. The lawsuit is currently ongoing at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court
