Keke is Not a Doll Similar to Her Song, This is Rinni Wulandari's Response

Kapanlagi.com - Influencer and YouTuber Rahmawati Kekeyi Putri Cantikka, commonly known as Kekeyi, has just released a single titled Keke is Not a Doll. The song immediately went viral and is currently trending number one on YouTube with 7 million views.

However, the song has become a public discussion as it is deemed to have similarities with the song I Am Not a Doll by singer Rinni Wulandari, which was released in 2008.

1. Song Creator Speaks Out

Even the song creator, Novi Umar, has spoken out about the similarity of the song on his YouTube channel. He also expressed his disappointment because Kekeyi did not ask for permission from him or his label, Sony Music, to use part of the song.

“This part is the poison of Aku Bukan Boneka. In my opinion, it's the same as taking my rights without my permission. I would have much more respect if they had communicated with me personally or with Sony Music, the label I am under,” said Novi on his YouTube channel, Novi Umar Official.

However, Novi Umar also understands that Kekeyi is not a singer and seems to not understand about someone's copyright. He chooses to leave this matter to the label that represents him.

2. Rinni Wulandari's Response

Meanwhile, as the singer who popularized the song, Rinni Wulandari also gave her response.

“Actually, at first, I didn't know, but I received a lot of mentions and DMs from followers and friends telling me to check the link on YouTube, and at first, I was surprised to see a part of the song Aku Bukan Boneka in that song,” said Rinni Wulandari when contacted by Kapanlagi.com on Sunday (31/5).

Personally, she doesn't mind if a part of her song is sung by Kekeyi. However, she is concerned because there is no permission from the song creator or the label.

“In my opinion, it's not a problem. It's just that personally, I'm happy because many people still know the song until now, it's been 13 years. But what makes me worried is that the song hasn't received permission yet,” she concluded.
