Latest Condition of Richard Lee in Custody, Lawyer Says He Remains Healthy and Devout

Doctor Richard Lee is currently undergoing detention at Polda Metro Jaya related to allegations of violating the Health and Consumer Protection Law. Although behind bars, the physical and mental condition of the man known as a beauty doctor is reported to be very stable. His lawyer, Abdul Ad-Haji Talaohu, emphasized that his client remains productive during the detention period.

"Doctor Richard is doing well today, fine, he is healthy. He is focused, he reads a lot, he also engages in worship, he still receives what is called reports and important guests," said Abdul Ad-Haji Talaohu when met at Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, on Monday (30/03/2026).

Abdul also dismissed the rumors regarding special treatment for Richard Lee while in the cell. According to him, the doctor followed all the procedures set by the police just like any other detainee.

Abdul explained that Richard Lee remains disciplined in following the daily routine in the detention center. No special facilities were provided, and the doctor appeared very calm in facing the ongoing legal process. This calmness is based on the belief that the case against him is not a serious crime involving violence or corruption.

"What kind of treatment? He participates in what, roll call every morning, he is what you call, like usual, an ordinary detainee. If there’s different treatment, what is it supposed to be? There isn’t any," asserted the lawyer.

Regarding the physical changes, Abdul emphasized that there is no significant decline in Richard's health. The doctor actually looks fresh because he maintains a positive mindset while spending his days in detention. He spends a lot of time on literacy and getting closer spiritually.

"Healthy. Wow, he is fresh. Because he remembers that this matter is not a heavy matter. So he is just relaxed, he is not a murderer, not what you call it, corruption, no, there are no real victims here," said Abdul.

The background of this case began with a report from influencer Samira Farahnaz or Doktif who highlighted the discrepancies in product labeling and allegations of non-sterile products. Richard Lee is suspected of engaging in repacking practices that materially harm consumers, although to date there has been no medical evidence regarding the physical impact.

The legal team hopes the public will not be swayed by misleading information regarding special treatment in detention. The legal process is still ongoing with intensive support from Richard Lee's legal team.
