Maia Estianty Initially Refused Dul Jaelani to Stay at Her House Because She Was Already Comfortable Alone

Kapanlagi.com - Maia Estianty recently opened up about her difficult moments in the past when she divorced Ahmad Dhani and had to be separated from her beloved children for about 7 years. She revealed this story while chatting with Daniel Mananta on the Daniel Mananta Network YouTube channel.

Maia's turning point was when her youngest son, Dul Jaelani, had a fatal accident in 2013. Initially, only Dul suddenly wanted to live with her, without his other two brothers.

"Before Dul had an accident, I went to Bali, it was the first time I went on vacation with the children outside Jakarta. At that time, the children were allowed to accompany me only for the vacation, then I returned them to their father (Ahmad Dhani). Then the accident happened to Dul. That's where my children's turning point to move in with me. One by one, starting with Dul," Maia said to Daniel.

1. Maia Initially Reluctant to Accept Dul in Her Home

A unique fact was revealed from Maia's story. Because she had already become comfortable living alone without a husband and children for years, Maia even initially hesitated to accept Dul in her home.

"It's funny, so when Dul asked to come back to my house, Dul even said to me, 'Please don't, I've already enjoyed being single by myself'. So Dul called me and said, 'Mom, what should I do? I'm having a clash with dad, can I move there?', I said, 'No, my dear, you still have a legal case, settle it there first'," Maia recalled.

"Just imagine, for years, around 7 years, I was alone without any children and I was really like a happy single fighter. So when my child came back, even just one, I felt like, oh no, I have to take care of these children again, their school, their needs, it's giving me a headache. But in the end, Dul insisted on moving," continued the woman from Surabaya.

2. Al and El Start Following

After Dul moved out, Maia's relationship with her children slowly started to improve. A few years later, it was Al and El's turn to start regularly visiting and staying at their mother's house until now.

"2 years later, Al followed, in 2015. As for El, since their father went to jail, they started staying at my house. So now, Al and El are going back and forth, spending a month there, a month here," said Maia.
