Patrick Effendy, CEO of Majelis Lucu Indonesia, said that the abundance of extreme comedy materials from the comedians led him to launch uncensored stand up content in digital format so that the audience can freely enjoy the performances.
"This has been planned for a long time, because MLI's specialty is events. And each talent has a special show, so if we sell the content to OTT, it will be somewhat uncensored, so we decided to make it available for digital download," said Patrick Effendy in a virtual press conference on Thursday (27/8).
"Then we saw that this is a prospect that we can work on and focus on. Maybe there are some areas that have not been reached by MLI's events, so they can download it," he added.
One of the comedians who is part of MLI and also went viral because of his jokes is Tretan Muslim, who said that through digital download, people can enjoy the content he creates. Because for him, fans of stand-up comedy really enjoy controversy in every performance.
"People haven't been watching our controversy, but they enjoy it. Now they can enjoy it here," said Tretan Muslim.
In addition, Joshua Suherman also added that with digital download, it makes it easier for the "Funny Congregation" fans of MLI to get various exclusive content. At an affordable price, fans can already enjoy uncensored performances from a lineup of Indonesian Majelis Lucu comedians.
"This is your chance to enjoy exclusive MLI content, because not everything can be published, because the material from Majelis Lucu Indonesia is honest," said Joshua.
In this first phase, Majelis Lucu Indonesia (MLI) launched 5 (Five) exclusive special content from MLI, namely "You Think You're Cool" and "You Know Who's Smart" by Adriano Qalbi, "That's How It Is" by Kukuh, "Wedding Proposal" by Rigen Rakelna, and "Indonesian Comedy God" by Ananta Rispo. Not only exclusive content, Majelis Lucu Indonesia (MLI) will also present many comedy contents from special shows by many Indonesian stand-up comedians and other special comedy content.
