Make Sure It's Not Due to Drunkenness, Case of Police Patrol Car Colliding with 7 Vehicles in Malang Handled by East Java Regional Police

Kapanlagi.com - The case of a police patrol car hitting 7 vehicles in Malang City is currently being handled by East Java Regional Police. The police officer, CH, the driver of the vehicle, and the car itself are currently undergoing examination.

"The examination is being conducted at East Java Regional Police. We are still investigating, checking the vehicle, and examining the driver. The conclusion will be determined by the examination conducted by the Regional Police," said Kombes Leo Simarmarta, the Chief of Malang City Police, on Wednesday (22/1).

Leo stated that the driver's health is currently being examined, including their physical and mental health. The examination of the vehicle used during the incident is also being conducted.

"The examination is being conducted at the Regional Police, so we remain neutral. The doctor is conducting the examination, and the Propam (related to their membership) is also conducting an examination," he emphasized.

Leo also confirmed that the driver was not drunk or under the influence of drugs. However, the former Deputy Chief of Surabaya Police refused to speculate, including the suspicion that the perpetrator suffers from epilepsy.

"There was no alcohol involved, only negligence or lack thereof. However, the doctor will make the final decision, and we cannot speculate. The examination results will be determined by the doctor from East Java Regional Police," he explained.

2. 1 Victim Still Needs Another Surgery

Currently, treatment for the victims is ongoing. Four victims who are being treated at Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA), 2 people have been recommended to go home. All medical expenses and vehicle damage are covered.

"Only 2 people left, while the victim Sukadi, today is scheduled to undergo additional surgery," he said firmly.

3. Tabrak 7 Kendaraan

Previously, Malang City Police officer, Aiptu CH, collided with seven vehicles with a patrol car. Aiptu CH lost control while driving the patrol car of Kedungkandang Police Sector, Malang City Police, and consequently hit motorcycles and cars along Ki Ageng Gribig Street.

As a result of the incident, 4 people had to receive treatment at the hospital. The Mitsubishi Kuda car hit 5 motorcycles and two cars.
