Zaskia has imagined herself becoming a movie star and playing roles in many titles. She has also dreamed of launching her children into the world of acting.

"The first time I married mas Hanung, it was like, wow crazy, I'm going to be a movie star, or there will definitely be many films, and I also imagined that I could launch my child from as young as possible," said Zaskia via the TS Media YouTube channel, quoted by KapanLagi.com on Monday (09/02/2026).

However, Zaskia's expectations were actually the opposite of reality. The soap opera star of PARA PENCARI TUHAN was actually forbidden by Hanung to shoot starting from her first pregnancy.

"I found out when I married mas Hanung that every time I wanted to shoot, he would say, 'you're pregnant, don't shoot, you have a baby, don't shoot,' and when the child was big enough and I wanted to shoot, he would ask, 'what do you actually want to do, what's the point of shooting again?'" said Zaskia while mimicking Hanung's words to her.

This 38-year-old woman then concluded that Hanung implicitly does not want Zaskia to be in the same world as him.

"Because for him, if I'm in the same world as him, and we're both successful, he will feel that his power as a husband is the same. So, Hanung said, you should be in another world so we can grow in our respective worlds. So I, as a man, feel significant here (in the acting world)," she concluded.

Zaskia Adya Mecca has 'only' acted in ten feature films. This is in stark contrast to Hanung, who has directed dozens of films to date, some of which have become box office hits.

The last feature film starring Zaskia was the Malaysian film titled Cinta Paling Agung in 2015. Now, Zaskia is better known as an activist and entrepreneur.
