Mayor of Ambon Will Create a Book and Museum to Commemorate Glenn Fredly

Kapanlagi.com - Glenn Fredly, during his lifetime, was known as a music fighter. He fought for the rights of musicians. One of his remarkable contributions was in supporting Ambon as a world music city recognized by Unesco.

"Glenn has become our icon to convince many people on the journey of Ambon to become a city of music," recalled Mayor of Ambon Richard Louhenapessy in a virtual discussion titled "Glenn Fredly's Musical Journey for the Nation", on Monday (13/4).

1. Build Museum

To commemorate Glenn's services, Richard Louhenapessy plans to build a museum in the near future. In addition, he also plans to create a book about Glenn's career journey in 25 years in the music industry of the homeland. "Our hope is that Glenn's figure can be remembered forever," he said.

Glenn Fredly took his last breath at the age of 44 at Setia Mitra Hospital, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4) due to meningitis or inflammation of the brain membrane. Glenn was buried in Tanah Kusir Public Cemetery, South Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4).

2. Affected by Meningitis

It should be noted that Glenn Fredly passed away on Wednesday (8/4/2020). The late singer died from meningitis, and the sad news shocked the musicians of the homeland.

Not only musicians, but also several celebrities expressed their condolences to Glenn, the golden-voiced singer.
