Mediation Failed, Dito Mahendra's Lawyer Says Nikita Mirzani is a Suspect

Kapanlagi.com - Dito Mahendra's camp speaks up after actress Nikita Mirzani was named a suspect in a defamation case. It is known that Dito Mahendra reported Nikita Mirzani to the Polresta Serang Kota, Banten on charges of defamation.

Apparently, before Nikita Mirzani was named a suspect, both parties were almost mediated. However, the mediation carried out by the Polresta Serang to Nikita Mirzani and Dito Mahendra failed. This is because the mother of three did not attend.

"We would like to inform you that the investigators invited us yesterday to carry out restorative justice efforts, in accordance with the 2018 letter from the national police chief," said Dito Mahendra's lawyer, Yafet Rissy in Senopati, South Jakarta, on Saturday (25/6/2022).

"However, it is regrettable that the accused, Nikita Mirzani, did not attend the invitation, so that the restorative justice efforts could not be carried out," added Rissy.

Despite that, restorative justice itself could have been a chance for peace between Nikita Mirzani and Dito Mahendra. Nevertheless, Rissy said restorative justice cannot be carried out in Nikita Mirzani's case.

2. Mediation Failed

"Despite that, restorative justice is actually difficult to implement in this case, because one of the material requirements is that the accused is not a repeat offender. Meaning not someone who has been convicted, or found guilty of committing a certain crime, and then the formal requirements, both parties must agree to reconcile. that is the essence of restorative justice," he said.

Because mediation failed, the legal process for Nikita Mirzani continues. Rissy said, now the 36-year-old artist has been designated as a suspect.

3. Already Confirmed

"Based on the information we obtained, our client received a letter from Serang Kota stating that Nikita Mirzani's status has risen to become a suspect. We can confirm that," he said.

"Then we hope that the Indonesian police, especially the Serang Kota investigator, can carry out their duties professionally in accordance with the Criminal Code. Can complete the file in the necessary way so that this issue can quickly be raised to the prosecutor's office. That is our hope," he concluded.
