The incident that nearly claimed the life of their youngest son, Muhammad Bambang Arr Ray Bach, still lingers in Meisya Siregar's heart. The actress and presenter admits that the incident which occurred during the family vacation in Bali was a form of negligence on her part and her husband, Bebi Romeo, as parents.

Meisya stated that her familiarity with the beach location they often visit actually made them less vigilant. In fact, she believes that natural conditions can never be predicted even if the place is very well known.

1. Feeling Too Familiar with the Location

Meisya revealed that her family has vacationed at the beach multiple times since Bambang was a baby. Because they feel they know the location well, she and Bebi unwittingly became complacent.

"This is purely due to our weakness as parents. Because we feel familiar with the location, it’s a place we often visit from when Bambang was a baby, until Bambang was ten years old," said Meisya Siregar when met in the Tendean area of South Jakarta on Monday (20/7/2026).

She acknowledged that the comfort with the surrounding environment made them feel like they were at home. According to Meisya, this is where the gap emerged that ultimately led to the incident.

"That place is not foreign at all. It’s like an environment we already know, so it feels like home. And that’s our weakness. Nature is something we can never predict," she continued.

2. Make Evaluation Material as Parents

Meisya emphasized that she and Bebi chose to acknowledge their mistakes as a form of responsibility. She did not want to seek justification for the incident that befell their son.

"You know, for both of us, we have to be big-hearted to admit this is our weakness as parents," said Meisya.

After the incident occurred, she and Bebi admitted they kept thinking about how the incident could happen in just a matter of minutes. On the other hand, they also tried to remain calm so as not to add to Bambang's trauma.

"We are trying to calm the child and also calm ourselves because we... can't stop thinking like, 'Why? How could we let this happen in just a few minutes,'" she said.

3. Supervision Will Be Tightened

The experience became a valuable lesson for Meisya and her family. She realized that the supervision they had considered to be optimal actually still had many shortcomings.

"What’s certain is not to take it for granted. We felt like we had been supervising thoroughly, but with that incident, I felt like, 'What we have done still has many flaws, still many imperfections,'" concluded Meisya.
