Melaney Ricardo's Story: Changing Lifestyle After Surgery

Kapanlagi.com - Melaney Ricardo, a famous Indonesian artist and presenter, recently underwent a hysterectomy due to adenomyosis. The surgery, performed in 2023, changed some of her lifestyle habits for recovery and better health. Adenomyosis, a condition that causes severe pain and excessive menstrual bleeding, has now been addressed.

"I couldn't take it anymore. After the hysterectomy, I now wear shoes that are high but still comfortable," said the 44-year-old woman when met at an event as seen on Selebrita Trans7 on Wednesday (26/2/2025).

1. Choose Comfortable Shoes

In addition to regular exercise, Melaney, who is 44 years old, has switched to more comfortable shoes while still having a bit of height.

"My feet tend to cramp, they have issues, now if it’s not really important I can’t wear heels for long. Now I exercise 5 times a week. I want to be beautiful, I want to be healthy. My body has muscles, it can support me until I grow old," she explained further.

2. Experience Pain Before Surgery

Before undergoing surgery, Melaney experienced severe pain during menstruation due to adenomyosis, a condition where endometrial tissue grows within the muscular wall of the uterus. She explained that the pain was very disruptive to her daily activities and decided to undergo surgery after consulting with a doctor.

"When people ask, 'Why do you have to remove your uterus? Why not try this first (alternative)?' it’s just not enough! Oh, if friends only knew how painful it is. For the past few months, I decided to seek serious treatment because I felt that my menstruation pain was truly unbearable. Recently, I’ve been feeling an extra level of pain," Melaney said in a YouTube video in January 2023.
